Survey on dandruff

Dandruff affects a significant portion of the population worldwide. This pesky scalp condition manifests as dry, flaky skin on the scalp and is often accompanied by itchiness. While its exact causes remain elusive, several factors have been identified as potential triggers of dandruff, including an overgrowth of yeast-like fungus called Malassezia, hormonal imbalances, stress, or certain skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema. The discomfort caused by dandruff can be not only physical but also social and emotional, as individuals may feel embarrassed about visible flakes on their clothing or fear judgment from others. Fortunately, there are various treatment options available ranging from medicated shampoos containing antifungal agents to natural remedies like tea tree oil or apple cider vinegar rinses. Understanding this common issue allows us to empathize with those who experience dandruff while empowering them with knowledge and effective solutions for regaining a healthy scalp environment.
