Description:
A warm welcome to all the medical professionals in this interesting session on Stages of Uterine Prolapse - By Dr. Archana Kamath.
In Stage I, the uterus has descended slightly into the upper part of the vagina but remains well within the vaginal canal. Symptoms may be minimal or absent, often going unnoticed.
Stage II is characterized by the uterus descending further, with the cervix reaching the vaginal opening. Women may start experiencing symptoms such as a sensation of heaviness or pressure in the pelvis, and difficulty with urination or bowel movements.
In Stage III, the cervix protrudes outside the vaginal opening. This stage often brings more pronounced symptoms, including visible bulging from the vagina, discomfort during sexual intercourse, and significant pelvic pressure.
Stage IV, also known as complete prolapse, occurs when the entire uterus protrudes outside the vaginal opening. This stage requires medical intervention due to severe symptoms and the risk of complications, such as infection or ulceration of the protruding tissues.
Therefore, get an overall knowledge of stages of uterine prolapse - By Dr. Archana Kamath.
