Common symptoms of hepatic encephalopathy include confusion, difficulty concentrating, changes in behavior, memory loss, and difficulty walking. Other symptoms include slurred speech, tremors, changes in sleep patterns, and seizures. If left untreated, hepatic encephalopathy can lead to coma and even death.
Treatment for hepatic encephalopathy is aimed at reducing the amount of toxins in the bloodstream. This can be done through medications, dietary changes, and other treatments.
